I managed to get more done on my book this weekend before we went out on Saturday and even though I complained like mad when Paul made me get up at 9 on a Saturday I was very glad I did because I achieved a lot and I was completely useless all day yesterday - I had such a bad hangover! Much worse than you would suspect after what I drank on Saturday but I think the tablets that I am taking might have made it worse! Something was definitely wrong as I basically slept or lay down all day. I was still ill this morning which was horrible going to work.
Anyway I was wondering if any of you lovely people would be able to help me. For my book I need to know some stories that have happened to you, or to people you know! Basically anything to do with builders or plumbers. Or things that have happened in shops. Or when making a special purchase (anything from a car to a tube of toothpaste). In fact just anything unusual or amusing to do with the things we have to do in every day life. You can either leave a comment or drop me a quick email - there is a contact button on my full profile.
I will say thank you now in anticipation......

I like the idea of normal, everyday situations that get really deep and philosophical.
For exmaple, I was walking on the South Downs and passed another walker and instead of the usual "hello" and "good morning" this lady said "It's days like this that you want to last forever!"
And I had a surreal conversation in Tescos with the check out lady about the meaning of life. We started talking about cars.
Ooooh DIY stores - I love 'em.
Lots of shiny toys that look impressive in my garage but will hopefully never get used - at least by me :-)
Take a look at Joie DeVivre's blog
She has been having quite a time with a builder and a deck that looks like a stage.

Not really interesting but I was in the grocery store sometime back and people were looking at me funny and giving strange looks and then I realized I was wearing my "Chicks Dig Gnomes" t-shirt...
I had to actually push someone off a train the other week, after asking her 3 times to move so I could get off the train. I used both hands to push, and she wasn't very happy!
Bloody builders !! I can tell you heaps about them ... dont pay in cash... thats the byline
